Filament-Wound Tanks & Scrubbers

Orenco Composites fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) tanks and scrubbers are filament-wound on steel mandrels in our expansive composites facilities, encompassing 400,000-square-feet. In the filament-winding process, resin-saturated fiberglass strands are wound onto a rotating mandrel’s surface in a precise pattern. Mandrels are oriented either vertically or horizontally, depending on the type and size of tank being manufactured. FRP structures can be manufactured with properties that are pound-for-pound stronger than steel.

Filament-wound fiberglass tanks and scrubbers are used in a  wide range of industries, and are particularly suitable in corrosive environments where other materials are not a good long-term solution. Ideal applications for FRP tanks include water storage, liquid waste storage, chemical storage, corrosive chemical storage, and food-grade liquids, just to name a few. Orenco Composites has the ability to manufacture fiberglass-reinforced tanks from 50 gallons to 500,000 gallons, to fit virtually any application. Orenco Composites produces 3D CAD models of all fiberglass structures using SolidWorks, allowing us to provide accurate submittal drawings to help ensure your project is built to your specifications.

For most factory-finished tanks, stainless steel lifting lugs and tie-down lugs are integrally wound on the tank. FRP tanks can also be fitted at the factory with ladders, mounts, piping, floats, sensors, transducers, pumps, and wiring, simplifying and minimizing on-site installation.

Need a shelter and controls for your project? Let Orenco Composites deliver a complete, turn-key package. No other composites manufacturer can put it all together. And our quality is unsurpassed.
